In general, a mechanic’s lien will expire and no longer be enforceable unless the lien claimant begins a lien foreclosure lawsuit within one year after the date of the last item of the claim as set forth in the the lien claimant’s recorded lien statement.  The procedures and deadlines applicable to Minnesota mechanic’s lien foreclosures lawsuits are found at Minn. Stat. §514.10§514.11, and §514.12.
